The Kenai River Brown Bears failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Fresno Monsters shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-2.

Fresno was sparked by Mitchell Snyder, who tallied one goal. Snyder scored 47 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Fresno. Troy Grahl provided the assist.

The Monsters racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and two majors for 28 minutes in penalty time. Fresno had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Monsters put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 16.1 they average per game. Fresno found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season.
