Fairbanks downs Wenatchee, 3-1

Lonnie Clary tallied two points to lead the Fairbanks Ice Dogs to a 3-1 victory over the Wenatchee Wild.

Fairbanks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wenatchee to score on any of its three power plays.

Fairbanks also got points from Zack Rall, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kyle Lee also scored for Fairbanks. More assists for Fairbanks came via Garret Clemment, Colton Wolter, Max Birkinbine, and Jayson Angus, who contributed one a piece.

The Wild excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Wenatchee averages 29.2 shots on goal per game, but only sent 18 pucks on net against the Ice Dogs. The Wild did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Wenatchee averages 3.3 goals per game.

The Wild were led by Chris Kerr, who scored the team's only goal. Kerr scored 17:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wenatchee. Noah Nelson assisted on the tally.

Steve Perry recorded 17 saves for Fairbanks. The Ice Dogs incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Wenatchee's Robert Nichols stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Wild incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
