Barber leads Wenatchee over Fresno, 6-1

The Wenatchee Wild's Jacob Barber had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-1 win over the Fresno Monsters.

Barber's tallies came at 14:14 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Wenatchee and on the power play 12:32 into the second to make the score 3-1 Wenatchee.

Wenatchee managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Wild wound up below its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Wenatchee found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Wild average 3.4 goals per game. With 47 shots on target during the contest, Wenatchee exceeded the 28.6 shots it averages per game this year.

Wenatchee also got points from Chris Kerr, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Jono Davis, who also had one goal and one assist. Evan Schmidbauer also scored for Wenatchee. In addition, Wenatchee received assists from Joshua Hartley, Joseph Sullivan, Dylan Abood, Max McHugh, and Trace Redmond, who each chipped in one and Chris Jones and Noah Nelson, who contributed two a piece.

Fresno put 22 shots on net during the contest, more than the 17.9 it averages per game.

The Monsters were led by Mitchell Snyder, who scored the team's only goal. Snyder scored 11:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wenatchee.

Nick Schmit recorded 21 saves for the Wild. Wenatchee registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Macauley Haight made 41 saves for Fresno on 47 shots. The Monsters incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
