Amarillo pulls away in second, rolls over Odessa, 7-0

The Odessa Jackalopes allowed the Amarillo Bulls to net three goals during the second period and fell, 7-0.

Amarillo got the win on the strength of a great game by Blake Roubos, who had two goals and one assist. Roubos scored the first of his two goals at 15:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amarillo. Tyler Deresky provided the assist. Roubos' next tally made the score 5-0 Amarillo with 18:36 left in the third period. John Rey assisted on the tally.

The Bulls' goal total was higher than their season average. Amarillo averages 4.1 goals per game. By firing 42 shots on goal, the Bulls exceeded the 33.1 shots they average per game this year.

Amarillo additionally got points from Deresky, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Gage Christianson, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Mike Davis, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Clint Carlisle, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brady Ferguson also scored for Amarillo. More assists for Amarillo came via Adem Arifi, Dan McNamara, and TJ Sherman, who each chipped in one.

With 21 shots on target during the contest, Odessa exceeded the 12.8 shots it averages per game this year. The Jackalopes' defensemen bolstered Odessa's offensive attack, as they bombarded Collin Delia with 10 shots.

The Jackalopes were led by Jude Warner, who took three shots.

Delia recorded 21 saves for Amarillo. The Bulls totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Odessa's Erick Majerle stopped 35 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Jackalopes totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
