Huge game by Lee boosts Fairbanks over Kenai River, 3-0

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs' Kyle Lee had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 3-0 win over the Kenai River Brown Bears.

Lee's tallies came at 3:20 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Fairbanks and 8:54 into the third to make the score 3-0 Fairbanks.

Fairbanks stifled Kenai River's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Ice Dogs' defensive effort looked to be improved. Fairbanks allows 2.5 goals per game. By firing 31 shots on goal, the Ice Dogs exceeded the 27.0 shots they average per game this year.

Fairbanks also got a goal from Max Birkinbine as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fairbanks were Garret Clemment, Nick Hinz, and Lawrence Cornellier, who each chipped in one.

The Brown Bears could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Kenai River puts an average of 2.9 pucks into the net per game.

The Brown Bears were led by Ryan Walker, who took four shots.

Fairbanks' Steve Perry stopped 24 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Ice Dogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Evan McCarthy recorded 28 saves for Kenai River. The Brown Bears incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
