Amarillo squeaks by Texas, 3-2

The game between the Amarillo Bulls and the Texas Tornado was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Amarillo emerged with a 3-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and TJ Sarcona's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Bulls were led by Sarcona, who grabbed one goal. Sarcona scored 16:39 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Amarillo. Gage Christianson assisted on the tally.

The 45 shots that Amarillo put on net surpassed the Bulls' average of 35.4 shots per game this season.

Amarillo also got points from TJ Sherman, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Amarillo also got a goal from Carter Penzien as well. More assists for Amarillo came via Joe Grabowski, who had one and Ryan Cole, who had two.

Texas was helped by CJ Reuschlein, who tallied one goal. Reuschlein scored 16:20 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Jackson Leef picked up the assist. Max Shuart also scored for Texas. In addition, Texas received assists from Nick Neville, Brandon Hawkins, and Justin Greenberg, who each chipped in one.

Paul Berrafato made 22 saves for Amarillo on 24 shots. The Bulls totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Hunter Leisner recorded 42 saves for the Tornado. Texas totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
