Huge game by Jansen boosts Coulee Region over Brookings, 5-2Omni Center Fri, Feb 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Coulee Region Chill's Mac Jansen had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Brookings Blizzard. Jansen's tallies came at 10:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Coulee Region and on the power play 18:31 into the third to make the score 5-2 Coulee Region.Coulee Region's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Brookings power plays. The Chill outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Coulee Region averages 2.8 goals per contest. The Chill put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.1 they average per game. Coulee Region also got points from Andy Faust, who also registered one goal and one assist. Coulee Region also got a goal from Garrett Hendrickson as well. More assists for Coulee Region came via Cory Lushanko, who had three and Derek Smith, Brady Riesgraf, and Blake Kelley, who contributed one a piece. Brookings' offense rang up 46 shots on Coulee Region's net. The Blizzard were helped by Connor Andrle, who tallied one goal. Andrle scored 11:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Coulee Region. Eric Brenk provided the assist. Nick DeCenzo also scored for Brookings. In addition, Brookings received assists from Justin Moody, Evan Hesse, and Eetu Karvinen, who each chipped in one. The Chill's Tim Shaughnessy stopped 44 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Coulee Region totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Drew Weigman took the loss and made 13 saves before being replaced by Chase Wilson who made 13 saves. Brookings ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
