Michigan falls to Port Huron after surprising comeback

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons climbed out of a one-goal hole to beat the Michigan Warriors, 3-2.

Port Huron never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Fighting Falcons trailed 3-2 after a goal by Michigan's Matthew Uvodich at 9:56 in the second period. Port Huron tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Dan Dupell at 3:39 in the third period. The Fighting Falcons netted the game winner on the power play at 10:12 in the first period on a goal by Dupell.

Uvodich was all over the ice for Port Huron, as he racked up two goals in the win.

The Fighting Falcons' offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.6 shots per game they average.

Port Huron additionally got points from Dupell, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Port Huron were Mick Bruce, Ian Miller, Nick Horne, and Rick DeRosa, who each chipped in one.

The Warriors stifled Port Huron's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Michigan was helped by Brad Pizzey, who registered one goal. Pizzey scored 7:59 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Michigan. Mitchell Wedding also scored for Michigan. More assists for Michigan came via Sean Campbell, AJ Marcinek, and Martin Gruse, who contributed one a piece.

Alex Blankenburg rejected 22 shots on goal for the Fighting Falcons. Port Huron incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Dillion Kelley recorded 32 saves for the Warriors. Michigan incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
