The Jamestown Ironmen tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Springfield Jr. Blues held on for a 3-2 victory. A goal by Brett Skibba put Springfield up 3-1 in the third period, but Jamestown pulled to within one on Ryan Doucet's tally 19:45 into the third period. Skibba had a great game for the Jr. Blues, netting two goals. Springfield excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Jr. Blues put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.9 they average per game. Springfield also got a goal from Micah Ranum as well. More assists for Springfield came via Jack Sloan, Terry Leibo, Trevor Stone, Mike Fazio, Jon Carkeek, and Alex Baskakov, who each chipped in one. The Ironmen's offense rang up 37 shots on Springfield's net. Brett Szajner also scored for Jamestown. Other players who recorded assists for Jamestown were Ryan Urso, Joe Mottiqua, Dylan Zink, and Luc Gerdes, who contributed one a piece. The Jr. Blues' Ryan Kellenberger stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Springfield incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tim Shaughnessy made 37 saves for Jamestown on 39 shots. The Ironmen ended with 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Jamestown, Tyler Minx was ejected from the game.
