The Texas Tornado and the Wichita Falls Wildcats were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Texas made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. The Tornado gained the winning advantage on a goal by Nick Neville 15:01 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Neville had two goals and one assist to lead Texas. Neville scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 24 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 Texas. CJ Reuschlein provided the assist. Neville's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Texas with 4:59 left in the third period. The Tornado had gained a power play chance when Matt Robinson was whistled for kneeing. Jackson Leef assisted on the tally. Texas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Wichita Falls power plays. The Tornado failed to reach their usual level of shot production, putting 22 pucks on goal after averaging 29.2 shots per game this season. Texas got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Texas additionally got points from Leef, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Texas came via Brandon Hawkins and Justin Greenberg, who each chipped in one. Wichita Falls' offense rang up 31 shots on the Tornado's net.
