Huge game by Loe boosts Fairbanks over Janesville, 3-1Big Dipper Ice Arena Sat, Jan 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs' Devin Loe had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 3-1 win over the Janesville Jets. Loe scored at 14:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Fairbanks and again while on the power play 1:28 into the third to make the score 3-1 Fairbanks.Fairbanks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Ice Dogs were below their usual level of shot production, taking 17 shots compared to the 28.4 Fairbanks averages. Fairbanks also got a goal from Ryan McNeely as well. More assists for Fairbanks came via Jayson Angus, who had two and Duggie Lagrone, Patrick Newell, and Kyle Lee, who contributed one a piece. Janesville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. The Jets were led by Albergo, who scored the team's only goal. Albergo scored 2:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Zac Avolio picked up the assist. Steve Perry made 22 saves for the Ice Dogs on 23 shots. Fairbanks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Brock Kautz rejected 14 shots on goal for Janesville.
