Huge game by Loe boosts Fairbanks over Wenatchee, 5-2

Devin Loe was all over the ice for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Fairbanks' 5-2 win over the Wenatchee Wild.

Loe scored 4:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fairbanks. Ryan McNeely provided the assist. Loe dished an assist on Mike Parnell's goal that made the score 3-0 Fairbanks at 13:36 into the first period. He added another helper on Brett Gervais' goal that made the score 5-2 Fairbanks at 16:33 into the third period.

The Ice Dogs average 28.6 shots on goal per game, but only sent 15 pucks on net against Wenatchee.

Fairbanks also got points from Jayson Angus, who also had one goal and two assists. Fairbanks also got a goal from Kyle Lee as well. More assists for Fairbanks came via Jacob Hetz, who had one.

The Wild gave up more goals than its normal season average. Wenatchee is averaging 2.4 goals against for the season.

The Wild were led by Brian Williams, who finished with one goal and one assist. Williams scored on the power play 13:54 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Fairbanks. Wenatchee had taken the advantage when Fairbanks' Johnny Meuller got sent off for holding. Max McHugh assisted on the tally. Chris Kerr also scored for Wenatchee. Other players who recorded assists for Wenatchee were Nathan Flynn and Tyler Bruneteau, who each chipped in one.

Steve Perry recorded 26 saves for the Ice Dogs. Fairbanks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Wild's starting goalie, Robert Nichols, made three saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Nick Schmit, who stopped seven shots. Wenatchee incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
