Michigan rolls over Johnstown, 8-1Dort Event Center 1 Sun, Jan 06, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Michigan Warriors had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-1 win over the Johnstown Tomahawks. Michigan's Trevor Gorsuch was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Gorsuch will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.64. The Warriors were sparked by Luke Fiegl, who racked up one goal. The Tomahawks forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Johnstown had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Tomahawks' offense operated below they season average. Johnstown averages 3.1 goals per game. The Tomahawks' offense rang up 36 shots on the Warriors' net. Michigan totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Collin Brennan made 12 saves before being replaced by Chris Truehl, who took the loss and made 10 saves.
