Bismarck rolls over Coulee Region, 6-1

The Coulee Region Chill had trouble finding ways to stop the Bismarck Bobcats, which beat Chill, 6-1.

Bismarck got the win with help from a great game by Joe Giordano, who had one goal and two assists. Giordano scored 4:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bismarck. Filip Starzynski assisted on the tally.

The Bobcats managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Bismarck wound up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. The Bobcats bested their season scoring average. This season, Bismarck averages 2.9 goals per contest. The defensemen of the Bobcats were also effective in Coulee Region's zone, and came away with four goals. Bismarck put 46 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.6 it averages per game.

Bismarck also got points from Stanislav Dzakhov, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Bismarck included Rory Vesel, who had two and Jeremy OKeefe and Sam Wolfe, who each put in one. More assists for Bismarck came via Kevin Becker, who had three and Mike Dockry, Nate Repensky, Evan Giesler, and Cory Chapman, who each chipped in one.

The Chill failed to reach their usual level of shot production, putting 16 pucks on goal after averaging 23.1 shots per game this season.

Bryan Nies made 15 saves for the Bobcats on 16 shots. Bismarck registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Blake Cates rejected 40 shots on goal for Coulee Region. The Chill incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
