Mimmack leads Jamestown to shutout victory over Johnstown

Reid Mimmack recorded a shutout against the Johnstown Tomahawks as the Jamestown Ironmen picked up a 1-0 win.

Nicholas Sierra's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 8:11 in the third period. Tyler Dunagan picked up the assist.

Jamestown was sparked by Sierra, who had one goal.

The Ironmen stifled Johnstown's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Jamestown's defense was surprisingly good. The Ironmen allow 2.5 goals per game. Jamestown put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 27.9 it averages per game.

More assists for Jamestown came via Dylan Zink, who had one.

The Tomahawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Ironmen to score on any of their four power plays. Johnstown's offense operated below it season average. The Tomahawks average 3.4 goals per game. The defense for Johnstown played an important role offensively, racking up 17 shots on goal. The 37 shots that the Tomahawks put on net surpassed Johnstown's average of 26.3 shots per game this season.

The Tomahawks were led by Casey Nelson, who took nine shots.

Mimmack rejected 37 shots on goal for Jamestown. The Ironmen incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Collin Brennan recorded 30 saves for Johnstown. The Tomahawks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
