Amarillo outlasts Wichita Falls, 4-3Amarillo Sun, Dec 09, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Amarillo Bulls escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Wichita Falls Wildcats. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Ryan Cole secured the win for Amarillo with a goal in the third period. By firing 41 shots on goal, the Bulls exceeded the 32.1 shots they average per game this year. Amarillo was led by Matt Sieckhaus, who racked up one goal and two assists. Sieckhaus scored 10:00 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Amarillo. Gage Christianson provided the assist. Amarillo also got points from Omar Mullan, who also had one goal and one assist and Cole, who also registered one goal and one assist. Amarillo also got a goal from Brady Ferguson as well. In addition, Amarillo received assists from John Rey and Mike Davis, who contributed one a piece. Wichita Falls stifled the Bulls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Wildcats were led by Ben Kucera, who registered one goal and two assists. Kucera scored 19:02 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Colin Staub assisted on the tally. Wichita Falls additionally got points from Staub, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kyle Bauman also scored for Wichita Falls. More assists for Wichita Falls came via Chris Knudson and Daniel Vaysberg, who each chipped in one. Paul Berrafato made 21 saves for Amarillo on 24 shots. The Bulls totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. Wichita Falls' Evan Cowley stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Wildcats totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
