Peterson lifts Amarillo over Odessa, 4-1Ector County Coliseum Sat, Dec 08, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Garret Peterson was all over the ice for the Amarillo Bulls, as he tallied two goals in Amarillo's 4-1 win over the Odessa Jackalopes. Peterson scored at 8:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amarillo and again while on the power play 16:55 into the first to make the score 2-0 Amarillo.The Bulls put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Odessa to score on any of its four power plays. Amarillo's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. By firing 57 shots on goal, the Bulls exceeded the 31.6 shots they average per game this year. Amarillo also got a goal from Connor Frey as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amarillo were Gage Christianson, who had three and John Rey, Tyler Rostenkowski, TJ Sarcona, Ryan Cole, and James Bonaguro, who each chipped in one. The Jackalopes put 23 shots on net during the contest, more than the 18.1 they average per game. Odessa was led by Tyler Minx, who scored the team's only goal. Minx scored 4:19 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Amarillo. Ryan Doucet assisted on the tally. Amarillo's Collin Delia stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Bulls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Blake Wojtala took the loss and made 18 saves before being replaced by Phil Heinle who made 35 saves. The Jackalopes incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
