Hennen lifts Bismarck over Brookings, 3-0

The Bismarck Bobcats relied on the scoring touch of Terry Hennen, who netted two goals, to beat the Brookings Blizzard, 3-0.

Hennen scored at 18:40 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Bismarck and again while 18 seconds into the third to make the score 2-0 Bismarck.

Bismarck was boosted by Aaron Nelson, who turned in a shutout with 25 saves. Nelson managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.79 prior to the game.

The Bobcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Brookings power plays. Bismarck's defensive play was more effective than usual against Brookings. The Bobcats gives up 2.6 goals on average per game.

Bismarck also got a goal from Matt Anders as well. More assists for Bismarck came via Evan Giesler, who had two and Bob Kinne, Joe Giordano, and Daniel Kovar, who contributed one a piece.

The Blizzard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Brookings averages 31.3 shots on goal per game, but only sent 25 pucks on net against Bismarck. The Blizzard could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Brookings puts an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game.

The Blizzard were led by Cody Marooney, who took three shots.

The Bobcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nick Deery made 22 saves for Brookings on 25 shots. The Blizzard incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
