Aberdeen wins tough contest against Austin, 4-3

The game between the Aberdeen Wings and the Austin Bruins was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Aberdeen emerged with a 4-3 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Justin Parizek's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Wings were led by Parizek, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Parizek scored 19:16 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Aberdeen. Dylan Dailey picked up the assist.

Aberdeen's offense was clicking better than usual and put 36 shots on goal during the game, better than the 28.2 shots per game it averages.

Aberdeen additionally got points from Joseph Sullivan, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Mike Parnell, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Aberdeen also got a goal from Tyler Cisar as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aberdeen were Erik Baskin, who had one and Peter Krieger, who had two.

Austin managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Bruins wound up below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. Austin put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.6 it averages per game.

The Bruins were helped by CJ Smith, who registered one goal. Smith scored 14:15 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Austin. Josh Bretner also scored for Austin. More assists for Austin came via Joey Caprio, Drew Anderson, and Chris Fischer, who contributed one a piece.

The Wings' Marcus Zelzer stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Aberdeen incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nicholas Lehr rejected 32 shots on goal for Austin. The Bruins registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
