Wenatchee hangs on, beats Fresno 3-1Town Toyota Center Fri, Nov 23, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Wenatchee Wild took the lead against the Fresno Monsters in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory. A goal 12:31 into the the first period by Dillon Eichstadt proved to be the game winner, and powered Wenatchee to the victory David Powlowski picked up the assist.The Wild were paced by Jono Davis, who racked up one goal. Davis scored 13:53 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Wenatchee. Brian Williams assisted on the tally. By firing 38 shots on goal, Wenatchee exceeded the 28.1 shots it averages per game this year. Wenatchee also got a goal from Chris Kerr as well. More assists for Wenatchee came via Lance Carney, who had one and Jacob Barber, who had two. Fresno stifled the Wild's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Monsters failed to reach their usual level of shot production, putting 17 pucks on goal after averaging 22.0 shots per game this season. The defense for Fresno played an important role offensively, racking up seven shots on goal. The Monsters were led by Mitchell Snyder, who scored the team's only goal. Snyder scored on the power play 1:27 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wenatchee. Fresno had taken the advantage when Wenatchee's Williams got sent off for tripping. Trevor Husch provided the assist. Robert Nichols rejected 16 shots on goal for the Wild. Wenatchee incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Tomas Sholl recorded 35 saves for the Monsters. Fresno incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
