Jamestown boosted by Shaughnessy's play in net, beats Port Huron 2-1McMorran Arena - Main Fri, Nov 16, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Tim Shaughnessy helped the Jamestown Ironmen defeat the Port Huron Fighting Falcons, 2-1. Jamestown was led by Dylan Zink, who had one goal. Zink scored on the power play 14:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Jamestown. The Ironmen had gotten the advantage when Port Huron's Ian Miller was sent off for slashing. Brett Szajner assisted on the tally. Jamestown took advantage of the Fighting Falcons' penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. Victor Johansson also scored for Jamestown. In addition, Jamestown received assists from Matt Lanzillotti, Kenny Curtis, and Luc Gerdes, who contributed one a piece. With 34 shots on target during the contest, Port Huron exceeded the 27.0 shots it averages per game this year. Other players who recorded assists for Port Huron were Brett DAndrea and Rick DeRosa, who each chipped in one. Tim Shaughnessy made 33 saves for the Ironmen on 34 shots. Jamestown incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Max Milosek rejected 23 shots on goal for the Fighting Falcons. Port Huron incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
