Fairbanks downs Kenai River, 5-2Big Dipper Ice Arena Sat, Nov 10, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Colton Wolter registered two points to lead the Fairbanks Ice Dogs to a 5-2 victory over the Kenai River Brown Bears. Fairbanks' offense was clicking better than usual and put 43 shots on goal during the game, better than the 29.7 shots per game it averages. Fairbanks additionally got points from Garret Clemment, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jayson Angus, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Patrick Newell also scored for Fairbanks. Other players who recorded assists for Fairbanks were Kyle Lee, who had three and Duggie Lagrone, Nick Hinz, Brett Gervais, and Devin Loe, who each chipped in one. Kenai River could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. The Brown Bears were helped by Alec Butcher, who grabbed one goal. Butcher scored 1:51 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Fairbanks. Jacob Davidson provided the assist. Kenai River also got a goal from Ryan Walker as well. More assists for Kenai River came via Austin Arnold, Lucas Kohls, and Zac Lazzaro, who contributed one a piece. Kevin Aldridge recorded 19 saves for the Ice Dogs. Fairbanks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Gustaf Johansson took the loss and made 27 saves before being replaced by Sean Healy who made 11 saves. Kenai River registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
