The Jamestown Ironmen's Ryan Urso scored 2:14 into overtime to beat the Janesville Jets, 2-1 (OT). Jamestown was sparked by Urso, who registered one goal. The Ironmen were often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 51 minutes in penalty time. Jamestown had been averaging 14.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Ironmen's offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 30.4 shots per game they average. Jamestown also got a goal from Luc Gerdes as well. In addition, Jamestown received assists from Tyler Dunagan, who had two and Aaron Scheppelman and Victor Johansson, who each chipped in one. Janesville racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The Jets surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. Janesville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Jamestown power plays. By firing 25 shots on goal, the Jets exceeded the 17.2 shots they average per game this year. Janesville was led by Zach Diamantoni, who scored the team's only goal. Diamantoni scored on the power play 1:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Janesville. A boarding penalty on Ross Pavek had put the Jets on the power play. Eric Cruickshank picked up the assist. Reid Mimmack recorded 24 saves for Jamestown. Brock Kautz made 35 saves for Janesville on 37 shots. The Jets registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
