Austin survives Coulee Region comeback, wins 2-1

The Coulee Region Chill tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Austin Bruins would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1.

A goal by Scott Nelson put Austin up 2-0 in the third period, but Coulee Region pulled to within one on Andy Faust's tally 17:55 into the third period.

The Bruins were led by Nelson, who had one goal. Nelson scored 5:16 into the third period to make the score Austin. Jake Arroyo assisted on the tally.

Austin relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Jay Dickman, Nelson and AJ Reid took 17 of the team's 33 shots.

More assists for Austin came via Brandon Wahlin, who had one and John Simonson, who had two.

Other players who recorded assists for Coulee Region were Jake Kauppila and Hunter Anderson, who each chipped in one.

Jason Pawloski made 21 saves for the Bruins on 22 shots. Austin incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Aaron Davis rejected 31 shots on goal for the Chill. Coulee Region incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
