Wenatchee clinches tight 1-0 victory against Bismarck

The Wenatchee Wild and the Bismarck Bobcats played 60 tight minutes of hockey, but in the end it was Wenatchee that came away with a 1-0 victory.

Nicholas Kuchera provided the assist on the the contest's only goal.

The Wild were sparked by Brian Williams, who racked up one goal. Williams scored 4:40 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Wenatchee. Kuchera provided the assist.

Wenatchee put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bismarck to score on any of its five power plays. The Wild were held below their usual level of production. Wenatchee averages 3.7 goals per game. The Wild's defense was surprisingly good. Wenatchee averages 2.4 goals allowed per game.

In addition, Wenatchee received assists from Blake Roubos, who had one.

The Bobcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Wenatchee power plays. Bismarck could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Bobcats put an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game.

Bismarck was led by Bob Kinne, who took five shots.

The Wild's Robert Nichols stopped 24 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Wenatchee ended with 35 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Aaron Nelson recorded 25 saves for the Bobcats. Bismarck ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
