Kalamazoo falls to Jamestown in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Jamestown Ironmen pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings on a clutch goal by Daniel Cesarz.

Jamestown was paced by Cesarz, who racked up one goal and one assist. Cesarz scored 20 seconds into overtime to make the score 2-1 Jamestown. Evan Ritt assisted on the tally.

The Ironmen stifled Kalamazoo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Jamestown also got points from Ritt, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Jamestown were Brett Szajner, who had one.

The Jr. K-Wings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Jamestown to score on any of its three power plays. Kalamazoo's offense operated below it season average. The Jr. K-Wings average 3.7 goals per game. The defense for Kalamazoo played an important role offensively, racking up 12 shots on goal.

The Jr. K-Wings were led by Danny Hamburg, who scored the team's only goal. Hamburg scored 11:22 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Kalamazoo. Brett Beauvais provided the assist.

Reid Mimmack made 24 saves for the Ironmen on 25 shots. Jamestown ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Alex Okicki rejected 24 shots on goal for Kalamazoo. The Jr. K-Wings totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
