Jamestown beats Michigan 3-0 as Mimmack gains shutout

Reid Mimmack made 29 saves to complete the shutout and led the Jamestown Ironmen to a 3-0 win against the Michigan Warriors.

Jamestown was sparked by Luc Gerdes, who grabbed one goal. Gerdes scored on the power play 6:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jamestown. A tripping penalty on AJ Marcinek had put the Ironmen on the power play. Matt Lanzillotti provided the assist.

Jamestown put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Michigan to score on any of its three power plays. The Ironmen's defensive play was more effective than usual against the Warriors. Jamestown gives up 2.4 goals on average per game.

Tyler Dunagan also scored for Jamestown. Other players who recorded assists for Jamestown were Dylan Zink and Mitch Hall, who each chipped in one.

The 29 shots that Michigan put on net surpassed the Warriors' average of 22.3 shots per game this season. Michigan's offense was helped by the efforts of its defensemen, who managed to put 12 shots on net during the game.

The Ironmen incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Michael Pesendorfer rejected 25 shots on goal for the Warriors. Michigan incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
