Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Jamestown Ironmen defeated the Springfield Jr. Blues in a shootout 4-3 (3-2 SO). The shootout featured 10 attempts between both teams. Springfield's shootout goals were scored by Mitch Rogge and Mike Fazio. Jamestown's other shootout goals were scored by Daniel Cesarz and Luc Gerdes.The Ironmen came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Jamestown trailed 3-0 after a goal by the Jr. Blues' Rogge at 13:15 in the second period. The Ironmen knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Dylan Zink at 19:57 in the third period. Zink was all over the ice for Jamestown, as he registered two goals in the win. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The 40 shots that the Ironmen put on net surpassed Jamestown's average of 30.4 shots per game this season. Tyler Dunagan also scored for Jamestown. In addition, Jamestown received assists from Victor Johansson, who had two and Evan Ritt, who had three. Springfield was helped by Tom Cooney, who racked up one goal. Cooney scored on the power play 17:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Springfield. The Jr. Blues had gained a power play chance when Matthew Crockett was whistled for boarding. Simon Koscielski picked up the assist. Springfield additionally got points from Brett Skibba, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Springfield came via Jack Sloan, who had one and James McGing, who had two. Tim Shaughnessy made 20 saves for the Ironmen on 23 shots. Jamestown totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Matt Leon rejected 36 shots on goal for Springfield. The Jr. Blues totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
