Wenatchee erases deficit to stun Bismarck, 3-2VFW Sports Center Sat, Sep 29, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Bismarck Bobcats could not hold down the Wenatchee Wild, and Wild erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 3-2 win. Wenatchee never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Wild was down 2-0 after a goal by Bismarck's Shane Omdahl at 3:14 in the first period. Wenatchee knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Evan Schmidbauer at 10:58 in the second period. The Wild got the game winner at 16:10 in the second period on a goal by Schmidbauer. Wenatchee pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes. The Wild excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Wenatchee was helped by Jono Davis, who registered one goal. Chris Kerr also scored for Wenatchee. In addition, Wenatchee received assists from Chris Diver, Tyler Bruneteau, Max McHugh, Tyler Rostenkowski, and Trace Redmond, who each chipped in one. The Bobcats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Wild to score on any of their five power plays. Bismarck was helped by Daniel Kovar, who grabbed one goal. Kovar scored 2:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bismarck. Evan Giesler picked up the assist. More assists for Bismarck came via Bob Kinne, Matt Anders, and Patrick Moore, who contributed one a piece. Jordyn Kaufer made zero saves before being replaced by Robert Nichols, who took the win and made 17 saves. The Bobcats' Bryan Nies stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Bismarck incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
