Wenatchee's Davis deadly on offense in 5-2 win against MinotMaysa Arena Sat, Sep 22, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Jono Davis was all over the ice for the Wenatchee Wild, as he tallied two goals in Wenatchee's 5-2 win over the Minot Minotauros. Davis found the back of the net 4:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Wenatchee and again while on the power play 16:06 into the first to make the score 3-0 Wenatchee.The Wild put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Minot to score on any of its three power plays. The 40 shots that Wenatchee put on net surpassed the Wild's average of 22.5 shots per game this season. Wenatchee additionally got points from Nathan Flynn, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Jacob Barber, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Wenatchee also got a goal from Max McHugh as well. In addition, Wenatchee received assists from Dillon Eichstadt, Tyler Rostenkowski, and Trace Redmond, who each chipped in one and Chris Kerr and Blake Roubos, who contributed two a piece. The Minotauros were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 24 penalty minutes. Minot relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Stephen Sherman, Cody Milligan and Lucas Oliver took nine of the team's 17 shots. Evan McCarthy rejected 15 shots on goal for Wenatchee. The Wild incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Ben Myers recorded 35 saves for the Minotauros.
