West Michigan Hounds 18U hangs on, beats Texas Tornado 18U 3-1

Logan Hudson gave West Michigan Hounds 18U the lead in the first period, and Texas Tornado 18U was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1.

West Michigan Hounds 18U took over the lead for good with a goal by Hudson at 2:45 in the first period. A high sticking penalty on Tommy Dierl had put West Michigan Hounds 18U on the power play. Christian Howard picked up the assist.

Texas Tornado 18U was stymied by West Michigan Hounds 18U netminder Nick Light, who stopped 42 shots during the victory. The solid play of Light will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.46.
