Mclain's big game bests San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U in 6-2 Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U win

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U got the win on the strength of a great game by Max Mclain, who had two goals and one assist. Mclain scored the first of his two goals short handed at 14:31 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U found itself down a man on Zach Jennings' tripping. Mclain's next tally short handed made the score 6-1 Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U with 10:15 left in the third period. A hooking penalty on Joshua Vaughan had put Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U on the power play. Marcus Mollica provided the assist.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U also got points from Mollica, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U also had goals scored by Kohl Donovan, who had one and Troy Loggins, who had two. More assists for Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U came via Nicholas Katzaroff, who had two and Charles Arsenescu and Robert Tirea, who contributed one a piece.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U finished with 18 penalty minutes.
