Huge game by Dalesandro boosts Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U over Omaha AAA Lancers 18U, 4-1

Behind a great game by Carmen Dalesandro, who had one goal and two assists, Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U defeated Omaha AAA Lancers 18U, 4-1.

Dalesandro scored 16:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U. Anthony Parrucci assisted on the tally. Dalesandro dished an assist on Ryan Lottes' goal that made the score 1-0 Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U at 2:40 into the first period. He added another helper on Tanner Gilliland's goal that made the score 4-1 Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U at 11:23 into the third period.

Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes.

Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U stifled Omaha AAA Lancers 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Trevor Recktenwald also scored for Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U. In addition, Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U received assists from Cole Hepler, who had two and Joe Bender, Connor Cash, and Jacob Worcester, who each chipped in one.

Omaha AAA Lancers 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U to score on any of its four power plays.

Omaha AAA Lancers 18U was led by Blake Couture, who scored the team's only goal. Couture scored 5:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alex Arnold picked up the assist.

Pittsburgh Viper Stars 18U's Alex Androkites stopped 14 shots out of the 15 that he faced. Garrett Metcalf rejected 17 shots on goal for Omaha AAA Lancers 18U. Omaha AAA Lancers 18U incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
