West Michigan Hounds 18U vanquishes San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U in shootout, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as West Michigan Hounds 18U defeated San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U in a shootout 3-2.

The shootout featured two attempts between both teams.

West Michigan Hounds 18U came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. West Michigan Hounds 18U was down 2-1 after a goal by San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U's Igor Leonenko at 14:06 in the third period. West Michigan Hounds 18U knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Cory Day at 16:58 in the third period.

West Michigan Hounds 18U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U power plays.

West Michigan Hounds 18U was helped by Christian Howard, who finished with one goal. Howard scored 12:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 West Michigan Hounds 18U. In addition, West Michigan Hounds 18U received assists from Collin Finkhouse, who had one.
