Phoenix Firebirds 18U gutted out a close 5-3 win against Detroit Falcons 18U.

Phoenix Firebirds 18U gained the winning advantage on a goal by Sean Winikates 14:40 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Phoenix Firebirds 18U was led by Winikates, who grabbed one goal.

Phoenix Firebirds 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Detroit Falcons 18U to score on any of its four power plays. Detroit Falcons 18U was unable to stop Phoenix Firebirds 18U from sending pucks towards the net, and Phoenix Firebirds 18U eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Tim Workman also scored for Phoenix Firebirds 18U. More assists for Phoenix Firebirds 18U came via Jake Bayer, who had two and Brad Dote, Justin Dungey, and Zachery Bryant, who each chipped in one.
