Huge game by Koukis boosts Wenatchee Wild 16U over Atlanta Fire 16U, 4-1

Wenatchee Wild 16U's Chris Koukis had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over Atlanta Fire 16U.

Koukis scored at 10:34 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Wenatchee Wild 16U and again while on the power play 9:36 into the second to make the score 4-1 Wenatchee Wild 16U.

Wenatchee Wild 16U was led by goalie Alex Olson, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Olson managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.03 prior to the game.

Wenatchee Wild 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Atlanta Fire 16U was unable to stop Wenatchee Wild 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and Wenatchee Wild 16U eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Wenatchee Wild 16U also got points from Jonah Pearson, who also registered one goal and one assist and Travis Volmert, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Wenatchee Wild 16U came via Justin Stoner, who had three and Ben Blake and Brock Weitl, who contributed one a piece.

Atlanta Fire 16U forced Wenatchee Wild 16U goalie Olson to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Atlanta Fire 16U's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Atlanta Fire 16U finished with 18 penalty minutes.

Atlanta Fire 16U was led by Chase Pearson, who scored the team's only goal. Pearson scored 5:15 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Wenatchee Wild 16U.

Wenatchee Wild 16U incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Connor Stewart recorded 33 saves for Atlanta Fire 16U.
