Montoya's big game bests Lansing Capitals 16U in 4-1 Omaha AAA 16U win

Omaha AAA 16U's Ethan Montoya had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over Lansing Capitals 16U.

Montoya found the back of the net 11:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Omaha AAA 16U and again while 1:52 into the second to make the score 2-0 Omaha AAA 16U.

Omaha AAA 16U forced Lansing Capitals 16U goalie Jacob Gwillim to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Omaha AAA 16U also got a goal from Luke Osterman as well. More assists for Omaha AAA 16U came via Christian Evers, who had two, Camden VanBrocklin, who had three, and Ethan Price and Rhodes Dolan, who each chipped in one.

Lansing Capitals 16U was led by Wyatt Beard, who scored the team's only goal. Beard scored 13:30 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Omaha AAA 16U.

Sean Wendlandt made 21 saves for Omaha AAA 16U on 22 shots. Omaha AAA 16U finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage. Gwillim rejected 27 shots on goal for Lansing Capitals 16U. Lansing Capitals 16U ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
