Pursuit of Excellence 16U uses early goal to top Atlanta Fire 16U, 2-0

Pursuit of Excellence 16U beat Atlanta Fire 16U, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Zachary Zorn provided Pursuit of Excellence 16U with the game-winning tally when he scored 10:38 into the the first period. Pursuit of Excellence 16U had gained a power play chance when Reagan Cink was whistled for slashing. Ben Cameron picked up the assist.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U was boosted by Joseph Mcleod, who turned in a shutout with 26 saves. Mcleod managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.27 prior to the game.
