Wenatchee Wild 16U rolls over West Michigan Hounds 16U, 4-1

Wenatchee Wild 16U had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over West Michigan Hounds 16U.

Wenatchee Wild 16U's penalty kill excelled, as Wenatchee Wild 16U gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Wenatchee Wild 16U was led by Duncan Cochrane, who racked up one goal. Cochrane scored on the power play 9:32 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wenatchee Wild 16U. Wenatchee Wild 16U earned a power play opportunity when Anthony Longo was put in the box for high sticking. Zach Paxman assisted on the tally.

Wenatchee Wild 16U forced West Michigan Hounds 16U goalie Chandler Reinking to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Wenatchee Wild 16U was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes.

Wenatchee Wild 16U also got a goal from Ben Blake as well. In addition, Wenatchee Wild 16U received assists from Chris Koukis, who had two and Brock Weitl, Jakob Kranabetter, and Alex Olson, who each chipped in one.

West Michigan Hounds 16U found itself short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

West Michigan Hounds 16U was led by Collin Schieman, who scored the team's only goal. Schieman scored on the power play 4:20 into the second period to make the score 1-1. West Michigan Hounds 16U had taken the advantage when Wenatchee Wild 16U's Jonah Pearson got sent off for cross checking. Dakota Wilson picked up the assist.

Wenatchee Wild 16U's Olson stopped 17 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Chandler Reinking made 32 saves for West Michigan Hounds 16U on 36 shots.
