San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U vanquishes New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U in shootout, 4-3

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U defeated New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U in a shootout 4-3.

The two teams needed 18 turns to complete the shootout. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U's shootout goals were scored by Matthew Kidney and Andrew Dicks. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U also got shootout goals from Carson Kelley and Jack Cleaver.

Kelley was all over the ice for San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Kelley scored the first of his two goals at 15:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U. Zakery Galambos provided the assist. Kelley's next tally made the score 3-2 San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U with 17:45 left in the third period. Morgan Ellis assisted on the tally.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U also got a goal from Jackson DeWitt as well.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U stifled San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U was helped by Ryan Price, who registered one goal. Price scored 6:16 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Michael Gelatt picked up the assist. William Antonides also scored for New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U. More assists for New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U came via Anthony Cusanelli, who had two and Greg Malafonte and Ryan Walker, who contributed one a piece.

Geoffrey Grimm recorded 14 saves for San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Michael Cosentino rejected 26 shots on goal for New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
