Omaha AAA 16U blows out Wenatchee Wild 16U, 6-1

Omaha AAA 16U had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Wenatchee Wild 16U.

Ethan Price had two goals to lead Omaha AAA 16U to victory. Price's tallies came at 3:52 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Omaha AAA 16U and on the power play 2:44 into the third to make the score 4-0 Omaha AAA 16U.

Omaha AAA 16U's penalty kill excelled, as Omaha AAA 16U gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Omaha AAA 16U was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes. The defensemen of Omaha AAA 16U were also effective in Wenatchee Wild 16U's zone, and came away with two goals.

Omaha AAA 16U also got points from Tarek Baker, who also had two goals and one assist and Christian Evers, who also registered one goal and one assist. Omaha AAA 16U also got a goal from Camden VanBrocklin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Omaha AAA 16U were Ethen Frank, who had two, Patrick Grasso, who had four, and Cade Warner, Kyle Patava, Mark Whitney, and Nathan Medeiros, who contributed one a piece.

Wenatchee Wild 16U was held below its usual level of production. Wenatchee Wild 16U puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Omaha AAA 16U's defense shut down Wenatchee Wild 16U's forwards for much of the game, and Wenatchee Wild 16U got off only 10 shots during the contest.

Omaha AAA 16U's Nathan Churchill stopped nine shots out of the 10 that he faced. Omaha AAA 16U registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Austin Piquette made 22 saves for Wenatchee Wild 16U on 28 shots. Wenatchee Wild 16U incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
