Barry leads Pursuit of Excellence 16U to shutout victory over Phoenix Firebirds 16U

Pursuit of Excellence 16U used a sparkling performance by Brendan Barry to take down Phoenix Firebirds 16U, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Pursuit of Excellence 16U's 3-0 shutout victory.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U was led by Keegan Lacroix, who tallied one goal and one assist. Lacroix scored on the power play 11:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pursuit of Excellence 16U. Pursuit of Excellence 16U had taken the advantage when Phoenix Firebirds 16U's Adam Curwin got sent off for interference. Greg Dakus picked up the assist.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Phoenix Firebirds 16U power plays.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U also got points from Dakus, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Pursuit of Excellence 16U also got a goal from Yanik Frish as well. In addition, Pursuit of Excellence 16U received assists from Ben Cameron, who had one.

Barry rejected 26 shots on goal for Pursuit of Excellence 16U. Pursuit of Excellence 16U registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Phoenix Firebirds 16U's Oliver Boerst stopped 14 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Phoenix Firebirds 16U incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
