California Titans 16U uses fast start to beat Pursuit of Excellence 16U, 8-1

California Titans 16U opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to an 8-1 over Pursuit of Excellence 16U.

California Titans 16U got the win on the strength of a great game by Ethan Somoza, who had four goals and one assist. Somoza's first goal came 3:01 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:21 into the first, at 10:31 into the second, and at 11:55 into the third.

California Titans 16U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pursuit of Excellence 16U power plays. California Titans 16U kept Pursuit of Excellence 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brendan Barry made 26 saves on 34 shots.

California Titans 16U additionally got points from Will-Robert Johnson, who also had one goal and one assist and Brendan Harris, who also racked up one goal and four assists. Franklin Newman also scored for California Titans 16U. More assists for California Titans 16U came via Jacob Hamacher, who had three and Aaron Murray and Gregory Figg, who each chipped in one.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U also got a goal from Keegan Lacroix as well.
