St. Michaels falls to Oakville in overtime, 5-4 (OT)Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Sat, Feb 23, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Oakville Blades' Greg Campbell scored 4:38 into overtime to beat the St. Michaels Buzzers, 5-4 (OT). Oakville was led by Campbell, who tallied one goal. The Blades kept St. Michaels' goalie busy throughout the game, and George Argiropoulos made 39 saves on 44 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Oakville also got points from Rory Bell, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Eli Berg also scored for Oakville. In addition, Oakville received assists from Sean Perichak, who had two and Aidan Orbinski, Harrison Domagala, Nathan Renouf, Jonah Renouf, Stefan Leblanc, and Luke Laidlaw, who contributed one a piece. The Buzzers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Oakville power plays. St. Michaels forced Oakville goalie Evan Buitenhuis to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Buzzers were helped by Matt Galati, who racked up one goal. Galati scored 19:39 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Michaels. Jake Evans picked up the assist. St. Michaels additionally got points from Joseph Berton, who also had one goal and one assist and CJ Shugart, who also tallied one goal and one assist. The Blades' Buitenhuis stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Oakville incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. St. Michaels incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
