Lindsay beats Pickering 7-0 as Davis gains shutoutLindsay Recreation Centre Fri, Feb 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Tanner Davis recorded a shutout against the Pickering Panthers as the Lindsay Muskies picked up a 7-0 win. Lindsay was paced by Dean Klomp, who tallied one goal. Klomp scored on the power play 12:39 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay. The Muskies had gained a power play chance when Micah Nichols was whistled for cross checking. Patrick Thornton assisted on the tally. Lindsay stifled Pickering's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Muskies kept the Panthers' goalie busy throughout the game, and J P Cesario made 48 saves on 55 shots. Lindsay surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Muskies average 3.5 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Lindsay also had goals scored by Felix Chamberland, who had two and Bryan Hignett, Terry Snoddon, Corey Jackson, and Brian Hubers, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Louis-David Bourgault, who had two, Vince Herlihey, who had three, and Cole Murduff, Bryce Sweeting, Tyler Donaldson, and William Sullivan, who each chipped in one. Pickering was held below its usual level of production. The Panthers put an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game. Pickering's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to Lindsay's power play unit. Tanner Davis made 25 saves for the Muskies on 25 shots. Lindsay incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Panthers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
