Wellington vanquishes Lindsay in shootout, 4-3 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Wellington Dukes defeated the Lindsay Muskies in a shootout 4-3 (2-0 SO).

The two teams needed four turns to complete the shootout. In addition to the clincher, Wellington got a shootout goal from Mike Soucier.

The Dukes came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Wellington was down 3-2 after a goal by Lindsay's William Sullivan at 4:10 in the second period. The Dukes knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Luc Brown at 16:02 in the second period.

Craig Campbell was all over the ice for Wellington, as he tallied two goals in the win. Campbell's tallies came at 53 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wellington and short handed 19:44 into the first to make the score 2-2.

The Dukes' offense rang up 34 shots on the Muskies' net.

More assists for Wellington came via Jacob Hetherington, Evan Erickson, and Austin Broadhurst, who each chipped in one.

Lindsay's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Wellington power plays. Wellington was unable to stop the Muskies from sending pucks towards the net, and Lindsay eventually piled up 54 shots on goal.

Lindsay also got a goal from Louis-David Bourgault as well. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Felix Chamberland, who had two and Cole Murduff, Kurt Gottschalk, Patrick Thornton, and Bryce Sweeting, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Larose made 51 saves for the Dukes on 54 shots. Wellington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tanner Davis rejected 30 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
