The Pickering Panthers could not stop the Aurora Tigers' Blake Forslund, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-7 win.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:36 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Aurora forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 13.0 minutes per game the Tigers had been spending in the box. Aurora made Panthers' goalies to work without much rest, taking 41 shots and forcing 32 saves. J P Cesario made 12 stops and Conor Barrie made 20. The Tigers' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Aurora averages 3.4 goals per contest. The Tigers took advantage of Pickering's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

Aurora additionally got points from Taylor McCloy, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Dylan Sikura, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Robert Angiolella, who also had two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Kevin Entmaa made five saves before being replaced by Brett Sinclair, who took the win and made 17 saves. Aurora ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Daniel Clairmont was ejected from the game. Pickering totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 3-for-8 on the power play. For the Panthers, Heard was ejected from the game.
