St. Michaels boosted by Ignagni's play in net, beats North York 5-1North York Centennial Sun, Feb 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Michaels Buzzers relied on the sparkling performance of Adrian Ignagni in net to grab a 5-1 win against the North York Rangers. St. Michaels was led by Jake Evans, who racked up one goal. Evans scored 10:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Michaels. Troy Josephs picked up the assist. The Buzzers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow North York to score on any of its four power plays. Others who scored for St. Michaels included Matt Galati, who had two and Jared Walsh and Michael Neville, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Michaels came via Mike Lansdowne and Jordan Merante, who contributed one a piece and Shane Conacher and Cody Doiron, who each chipped in two. The Rangers could not produce up to they normal offensive output. North York averages 4.3 goals per game. The Rangers struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays. North York was led by Chris Aitcheson, who scored the team's only goal. Aitcheson scored 7:32 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Patrick Piacentini assisted on the tally. Adrian Ignagni made 28 saves for St. Michaels on 29 shots. The Buzzers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jason Pucciarelli rejected 21 shots on goal for the Rangers.
