Kingston beats Stouffville 5-0 as Dzijacky gains shutout

Colin Dzijacky recorded a shutout against the Stouffville Spirit as the Kingston Voyageurs picked up a 5-0 win.

Kingston pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

The Voyageurs stifled Stouffville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kingston's defensive play was more effective than usual against the Spirit. The Voyageurs allow 2.3 goals per game.

Kingston was led by David Quesnele, who tallied one goal and one assist. Quesnele scored on the power play 16:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. The Voyageurs had taken the advantage when Stouffville's Peyton Backus got sent off for slashing. Ludlow Harris picked up the assist. Kingston additionally got points from Brett Du Puy, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Harris, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kingston also got a goal from Francesco Vilardi as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Dylan Hutton, who had two and Chad Duchesne, Joe Seney APJ, Kris Grant, and Brian Nanne, who each chipped in one.

The Spirit did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Stouffville puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. The Spirit's offense rang up 44 shots on Kingston's net.

The Voyageurs' Dzijacky stopped 44 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Kingston registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Braydon Banitsiotis made 25 saves for Stouffville on 29 shots. The Spirit incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
