The Trenton Golden Hawks and the Aurora Tigers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Trenton made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Shawn Mackie (APJ) at 5:05 of the second period. Mackie (APJ) had two goals to lead the Golden Hawks to victory. Trenton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Aurora power plays. Trenton additionally got points from Nolan Martin, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Trenton also got a goal from Nathan Grossi APM as well. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Truman Landowski, who had two and Erlich Doerksen, Mike Nedoszytko, Greg Trichilo, Robbie Hall, and Dillon Warner, who contributed one a piece. Aurora forced the Golden Hawks goalie Victor Adamo to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Tigers were helped by Daniel Clairmont, who racked up one goal. Clairmont scored 5:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Tanner Shaw assisted on the tally. Dylan Wallace also scored for Aurora. In addition, Aurora received assists from Taylor McCloy, Adam DiBrina, and Robert Angiolella, who each chipped in one. Trenton's Adamo stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Golden Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Trenton, Nedoszytko was ejected from the game. Kevin Entmaa rejected 23 shots on goal for Aurora. The Tigers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
